hello,

in a vain attempt to learn linux, i found an old copy of redhat 6.0... and am attempting to install on my dimension dell 500 celeron's second drive...

anyways all is going well until i start setting up the network, (which come to think of it, is pretty early in the game... :) ) and the install doesn't recognize my 3c905 card... in fact, any driver i put into the thingy doesn't get recognized...

any suggestions?

Try redhat 6.1 or 6.2 make your life easier. You can download it from ftp.redhat.com. Providing you have a burner and a fast connection.

Click on the hardware list, I seen 3com has 3 different types of 3c905. You'll find the lists more under RH7.0 then 6.2 and 6.1 as they really don't list anything.
