To the WHT community I would like to ask a simple question:

What is a fair hourly wage for tech support? Duties include:

OS Installations
Server building\installation
Hardware upgrades
Client Tech Support
....etc....

No training was provided, all skills were previously aquired prior to consideration for employment. I feel that our tech support team is severely underpaid. I would appreciate if you would take the time to answer. Thanks.

Hmm, if you thought the job paid well enough to apply for and then accept, why is it not enough now? What has changed?

LOL I wouldn't work as a support for FDC...he must have nightmares with massive amounts of problems ;)

Anyway think this post is not very fair towards the company (even if they are what they are)!

In my area, Administrative Assistants make $10-15/hour. That's a desk job, minimal computer skills, etc.

I'd say around $18/hour for an onsite tech with the skills listed is fair.

Ouch... Not looking for a long term career with FDC are you?

But to answer your queston:

Do you do any server administration? Using what tools? OS tweaks? Security? What level Support are you? Level of education? Certifications? experience?

Just at first glance, not knowing any more, it looks to me like you build servers, load them and provide front line customer support. In this market that's worth about $8 - $10 an hour.
