MarcD 12-07-2002, 01:35 AM http://businessesales.att.com/products_services/tollfreeproduct_catalogdisplay.jhtml pretty easy to use skelley1 12-07-2002, 01:38 AM there are many, many providers like kall8.com that you can get an 800 number from. It's worth it if you have the staff to be able to answer calls and respond without having to look up answers all the time, and have people available all hours, or at least can call back in a reasonable amount of time. Some people won't host with someone that they can't talk to directly. It also allows you to more quickly respond to a client's (or potential client's) questions or problems in a dynamic conversation. Chat is another way to accomplish this, and has similar benefits/drawbacks. JonL 12-07-2002, 02:08 AM www.angel.com provides 800 numbers. It's worth it if you have a good amount of customers and you want to provide good support but just make sure there is somewhere actually at the phone...unlike some companies. certify 12-08-2002, 10:18 AM What about international based companies outside of US? Lirath 12-08-2002, 03:26 PM We're gonna be getting a 1-800 number from our local phone company... however, we are going to compare rates with those online places, but I still think local rates are going to be cheaper ckevin 12-08-2002, 10:14 PM Originally posted by certify What about international based companies outside of US? Kall8 accepts international customers, and have a look at their international calling rates as well! TheMMIz 12-08-2002, 11:31 PM Ive been with Kall8 for about a month now, and think their service is great for the price. Im sure you can find cheaper, but this allows: 1. You to forward a call to anywhere depending on many different factors you can set up. 2. To block certain calls / numbers / area codes 3. Free voicemail (you set up message, or they will), and FREE fax, both get sent to your email account. 4. Can enable / disable number as often as you want, and select the message when disabled. 5. Can block payphone calls which are an extra $.50. All this for only $2.00 a month and 7 cents a minute. I think its a great deal. Good luck though. -Matt DayGlo 12-08-2002, 11:48 PM We signed up for a toll free # with Kall8 today . It's pretty cheap and should make our company look more appealing :) I didn't finish the registration yet though, i need to hear from them first about something that i find odd. They ask that i fax a printed copy of both sides of my credit card. I imagine it's to prevent usage of stolen cards but it's a cheap service and a recurring one. How many people would actually sign up for a toll free # using a stolen credit card? I can't picture someone using a stolen credit card to order a recurring service that is of no use without providing an actual contact phone #. I don't feel good about printed copies of my credit card existing. TheMMIz, did you have to do that when you signed up or is this something new? Wolfy 12-09-2002, 12:29 AM I just had to fax Kall8 a signed application form, maybe they have different requirements for paying with credit card depending on which country you're from? There is only one bad thing I've found about Kall8. They don't let you change the default voice mail message! Sure you can record your own, but then it plays your message, and then their dodgy-default one after it. :( BentAxis 12-09-2002, 05:26 AM We have had very good luck with Freedom Voice. They also provide a kind of "virtual" phone system with their service that allows us to route our calls to people in different locations and also send us our voice mail via e-mail as a wav file. certify 12-09-2002, 07:05 AM That is the url of Kall8?
