Why do people insist on going with cheap hosting providers that provide "unlimited" services. Do they really think they will be put on a low user server that is fast. Also, do they really think that they will recieve good customer support, or any support at all for that matter. I just don't get it. It's just perplexing why people would want to save money on account of getting bad services and support. Can anyone explain this at all?
I am sorry if I sounded negative:confused:

It's all appealing to newbies. In their minds they probably think, "What is better than unlimited...?"
It's a normal newbie mistake. They just need to learn...

Yeah I know, but how do you let the newbies know the truth and not sound like a pesky salesman. I know I am trying to sell my service but I want them to know that they are getting what they paid for. Ah well, I guess its just how things go.

Tell them to visit http://www.unlimband.com/ and read... That should help, if it doesn't they are going to have to lose their money or have a bsd hosting experience first...

When I was looking for hosting, I looked for the least expensive.
I imagine there are a lot that do. I had a "host" that gave me "unliimited" resources for $11 a year.
Needless to say; I'm no longer with them.
Needless to say; they're no longer in "business."

Yeah, exactly...before I got into the business a year ago that is all I went to for my development projects....extremely low cost hosts, and I had sooo many problems. :-/

Most people want everything for nothing. Or at least at a substantial discount.
They will overlook the factors of technical support and service and focus solely on cost.

One day...they will realize picking a good host and paying a few extra bucks a month will pay off in the long run.
Thanks for the replies everyone.

It's best to let them make their mistakes and go cheap now and when they come to you becuase their cheap host caved they will appreciate what they're paying for.

Someone can provide you unlimited service? Ask them who can provide them the unlimited services as their back-end :cartman:

LINUX, I agree with you. When I just started with all this web business, I thought - wow, unlimited! and signed up for one company that still gives me nightmares...
But when people learn a bit, they realize many things are simply wrong there and move to better web hosting companies.

haha how coincidental....I did a site for a person a couple years ago and they hosted it with a $30 a year "unlimited host" it was fine....slow but alright. But just yesterday their server crashed and they lost all data! I was so mad because I was just about to move the site to our servers :-/
