Okay heres my deal. I run a site where we program our own games for free and offer them to our players free of cost. Due to the massive amount of usage that gets taken up we needed a dedicated server. I went ahead and purchased one. Well the cost is very high and i decided to off set the cost a little bit by offering hosting. Now ill list the plans below but please be aware im not out to make money of this but just to offset my cost a little:

500mb Space
2gb Bandwidth
for 4.95 a month

Now yes i know i wont make much money doing htat but im only going to sell about 35 accounts and then stop. This is to bring my server price down and use up about 20gb of space i will never touch and bandwidth i will never touch. Let me know what i need to file with the irs and all to do this. If it helps im in orlando florida.

BTW ive been working in the hosting industry for about 4 years now and know what im doing. I have worked for several of the companies that acually post on here.

If you want to offset your cost, and you have so many people playing that they are bogging down the server, why don't you offer advertising opportunities?

aucally we do that. But currently were reporgraming the game to make it a bit faster so its down. Once its back up we will generate serveral thousand in advertising cost very easily. But currently were not generating that much yet and the game isnt up so all my advertisers are on hold till its back up.basically with the game up i do about 1 million impressions a day but with the game down i only do about 3k-6k impressions daily. So as you see im in a strong hold for now. It will be back up in a few months but its going to take a few months after we reopen to regain advertisers....i only have about 250 dollars worth of advertising promised to pay once we reopen for that first month......so im looking for something else to help run till then.

If it's down do you really need a server currently?

Once it's back up, then get the server, have a few hundred dollars to pay for the server until the advertisers come rolling in...

365 million impressions a year and you are offsetting your costs by selling 35 $5/mo accounts? Hmmmmmm

yeah but since they load the same page and images over and over it acually dont come out to much. The average user will use around 1500 impressions each day that they arive at the site. I have lots of players so it adds up. Bandwidth usually is btwn 2-3gb a day. Its not really all to bad and the cost isnt to high. Any ways i have found a few other ways to help offset the cost to help us out so that we dont have to sell web space. THanks anyways guys...
