A friend of mine has asked me if he knows of a reliable web-host for his non-profit organisation. Unfortunately, I know nothing about external hosting as all mine is done in-house.

Price is very key and the bandwidth required is quite low. However, the database they want to use is SQL server (already exists) and I know the price tends to increase for this type of service. Support is very important as both he and I are novices at setting these things up.

So what are your recommendations for a cheap, friendly provider?

Well you're not, even if you're offering to host him for free. The forum rules prohibit hosts from soliciting clients through these forums.
