Our client is currently with AIT, and needs to make a switch.

They purchased our account management software, which requires curl ( http://curl.haxx.se ) however, AIT flat out refuses to install this. Kinda odd since they have linux servers and most linux installations include a curl as a defualt package.

Anyhow, my client's name is Dann, and I will be giving him the url to this post so he can monitor/reply to offers and advise.

The main requirements are this:

1) PHP, MySQL, Curl (does not need to be installed as a module)

2) A directory structure similar to AIT would be nice, so he can just copy over all his files without needing to make to many changes.

I believe he has 3-4 sites he will need to move.

You'll need to give him the URL to a post in the Web Hosting Requests forum down below, if you want to attract some offers for him. :)

would it be a problem to simply make user install of curl in your home dir??

Sasha, from my conversations with AIT, it seems that they flat-out refuse to install anything for just one user, it has to be something everyone can use. They will not do this...

if you hve ssh access, you can download and install curl yourself. Just when doing configure do ./configure --prefix=/home/userdir/dir_where_i_want_curl_installed

that will install curl in specified directory and curl binary will be in that directory/bin

Only thing to do is to point your scripts to proper curl path and it should work

Sasha, I was under the impression that curl required root access for the install...

Plus, I don't believe my client has ssh access.
