i think you have to learn the basics of a unix system. try searching the net for some books-tutorials about unix-linux etc..., i have some (basic) unix ebooks and i can send you some of them. Also , try to learn basic dns...

study the books and other technical information you have and learn from hands on experience, if you enjoy networking in general, then webhosting is for you ;p
