I will appreciate your response..thanks!;) ;) globe 04-21-2001, 03:47 PM Go to "Edit resellers" in your Whm, then at the bottom of the page enter IPs you think that reseller should get as dns. Then go to a registrant and change dns to that domain. Remember they are virtual, so another domian in your server might get the same ip as main ip; this will (SHOULD) not affect the system. bye ckizer 04-22-2001, 04:24 PM Explain in detail how this works a little more please.. Are you saying that i can give my resellers there own dns servers so they seem anonymous, and do this through web host manager? Does it just share the same ips as my dns servers? How does this work? Because i don't think this works with some people and certian registars. Maybe I did this wrong with the dns servers i setup. I'm getting web hosting manager with cpanel in a week and if this can be done from web host manager please explain. SiperNet 04-22-2001, 04:37 PM Here is a post in vo`s forum that discusses this! Click Me! (http://www.venturesonline.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=6) :D globe 04-22-2001, 04:58 PM Yeah that link explains it carefully and correctly. You can add as many virtual dns as you need to. It works with every registrar cause they would point at your machine as soon they will be propagated, then cpanel redirects visitors to the right USERNAME, remember those are virtual dns this is a NAME BASED panel that's why it works with internal dns (almost) without problems. WaffenSS 04-22-2001, 05:36 PM Your server has main nameservers something like ns.blah.com ns2.blah.com If you give your reseller his Nameservers they will be virtual so if you give him ns.reseller.com ns2.reseller.com they will point to the main nameservers. peaceman 04-22-2001, 10:00 PM I had one other dumb question. We just started using CPANEL so I am still getting my feet wet in it. Here is my question. How do I bind a Class C bundle of IP addresses to the server?? I tried the IP functions on the WHM but it only allow me enter single IP addresses. HELP PLEASE... MSW 04-22-2001, 10:12 PM Yep, try adding 2 class C's one by one, and you come up with original ways of doing it . Here is how I do it Go to Excel, and create a list of the IP's you going to use (In Excel, you can create an entire range of number automatically so you don't have to do it manualy, if you don't know how, let me know) After that, do a "copy" of the IP's in Excel .. edit the file /etc/ips and paste that range there, then run "/etc/rc.d/init.d/ipaliases restart" Presto .. all set |
