Just found this site, great resource. My company needs a top-tier managed hosting vendor, and we've narrowed it down to either Verio or XO. I've seen Verio mentioned here a bit, but haven't seen anything on XO.

Anyone have any experience with a managed hosting solution with either of these companies, good, bad or indifferent? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I used to work for XO and all I can say is I won't knock them! (they're pretty big and we were taken over by them so I probably won't be able to shed any light anyway)

For both companies it's going to hurt with the $$$ isn't it? Which ones did you eliminate from your shortlist?

Yeah, the $$$ are large, but we need the high level of service, reliability, etc. that comes with the big $$$. We're doing load balancing, clustering, etc., starting with about 10 servers and will grow quickly, so going with the top dogs is necessary.

We started with these two based on recommendations from friends in the tech industry, and the fact that we need to go with a major provider sitting on major backbones.

BTW, I'm a newbie to this forum, not to the tech industry... ;)
