Ok I am looking at paysystems and noticed in some posts in the forums that they was/are haveing recurring billing problems. Is this still happening? Are you satisfied with the service?

Recurrings seem to have kicked back in now. Yesterday was the biggest day of the month for recurrings, and they all came through. :)

Well i get email this morning about the test activation. I think good, good. Now I can see what this is all about and play with it some. Well I am impressed, except one thing. You have to pay them first before they go further in processing your account. I have no problem with this except I hate to pay upfront thn wait 30 to 60 days for refund if I am not approved. This is practically the last thing to do except I am not going to pay these people first then have to wait for my money back.

Has anyone been rejected from these people before? If so how long was your money held?

Possibly they do some sort of check, but they claim to approve 100% of applicants.

Would be a good question for PaySystems. :)

Starring on the FBI's Top Ten Most Wanted might reduce ones chances. :)

OK I called paysystems, unlike 2checkout (who doesnt have a phone or if they do its hidden well)<<< very important feature to me. And just too clarify for anyone else that may have this question.

This is what they said.
"We authorize the card then we check your site and make sure its nothing against our terms and then once your approved we bill you."

That sounds pretty reasonable on their part.

Ok from what I understand they are encouraging me to take option one instead of option 2. Now what I dont understand is why would I want them too take a $1.20 out instead of $.72 based on $5.00. Is there something I should know, or is my business thinking not like it use to be?
Here is the table they use

One time set-up fee $49.00
Type A Discount Rate and Per Transaction Fee 3.95%* and $1.00*

Type B Discount Rate and Per Transaction Fee 5.5%* and $0.45*

* You may choose the fee structure which best fits your business model. We recommend a Type A 3.95% and $1.00 per transaction fee if your per sale amount is lower and a Type B rate of 5.5% and a $0.45 per transaction fee if your per sale amount is higher.

On $5.00 yes you'd go with Type A. But if you have higher ticket prices then the lower percentage is eventually going to outweigh the higher transaction fee. Say...$15.00? Somewhere around there.

leec, it's an averages game. Set up a spreadsheet with all your different services, and weight them according to how frequently they are sold. Then do a comparison-calculation, with both rates. If all you have is lower-cost items that are $5 and under, then take the 3.95 / $.45 option. If you have higher cost items, take the 5.5 / $1 option. The breakpoint actually seems to be in the neighbourhood of $35.

I was way out wasn't I. :)

It breaks even around $34 (32.657 to 32.64975). Adds more weight to why annual accounts are better.
