Can I expect the ISP's to provide rails for my racks? None of the systems seem to come with them. I'm worried about trying to find my own and them not fitting the cabinet.

Thank you.

why do you need rails? All of my servers colocated do not have rails and you don't need rails to put your servers on the rack anyway.

Actually, you do need rails to put the servers into the racks. Some ISPs will have generic rails available, but they should be included with the server so that the mounting can be done properly.

Mich, do you mean rails or posts? As far as I know, all you need are just posts to screw the server to the frame of the rack. With rails, you will get the ability to slide the server in and out in case you need to open the server case. CMIIW....

Take a look at this picture of 1U rackmount case... http://www.casetronic.com/CT123/4color-front.jpg

The cases have at least two posts (on the front left and front right) that will allow you to screw them to the frame of the rack. I bought these cases, but they do not come with additional rails....

Rack rails are simply rails on rollers attached to the side of the rackmountable case, so that shoul dyou need to pull the rack out from the cabinet you can without unscrewing the actual mounting brackets, rack rails are always a accessory and therefore usually do not come standard with servers.

Correct, posts are a necessity... rails are an accessory which makes life easier!

Here you go.

These are 1RU, ball-bearing, adjustable rails. No need for the clip nuts, they clip into the cabinet. They are adjustable for cabinet depths from 26"-30", so you can get into most all of them.
