OK... it currently has no traffic as i have done no promotion.. i am trying to set it all up before it goes gold... targeted at ages 16-25? mainly general discussion...

that is all i can think of.... but i can almost bet that it wont be as populated as i would like... i will understand if no one donates due to the poor stats my site has... i just thought i would ask...

He said maximum of $5. I don't think he'd appreciate you breaking his rules.

Invision Board is almost as good as vB... try using that until you have money :)

keyword... "almost"

and it looks as if i am going to have to go that way anyways... i have 30 bucks set aside toward vb... and i think i am going to lease because it is cheaper... and maybe find one selling their lease... or if i get lucky, find someone selling their owned for around the price of leased with ample time.. and then id just pay the 30 bucks.... any way it may be cheaper for me:)

Getting people to visit your forum won't be as easy as you think. I know you've probably heard it before and I know i've said it before but, maybe try using Invision Board first to get your site going and then change to vbulletin once you get traffic. I know that's hard to consider. I'm alot like you, I want everything on the site to be good before it launches, but in the real world that just doesn't work... I mean, i'd love to have a million dollar home and a lambourghini first and THEN win the lottery... but it ain't gonna happen :D ... But anyways, I doubt you'll get any donations from people in here... atleast not without giving more details (site URL, how you plan to market it, ect.)

Good luck though,
StarGhost

I don't think any web based business is worth a "few billion" anymore... those days are over with. Obviously sites like Yahoo! and eBay could demand that much, but I doubt we'll be seeing anyone offer a few billion for sites like eLance ;)

Nice. I think that $152 mil is in shares though. Not that it matters, cause ebay shares are as good as cash these days.
