hi all,

once again - thanks in advance for the community's accumulated knowledge.

i've just recently (like a coupla hours ago) just signed up for WeinBar.com's $49.99/year plan and am awaiting the domain to propogate throughout the internet.

[my predicament]
Via the admin interface, CPanel 3.6, i've also just started creating my user accounts for emails and setting the passwords for them. I realised that there's no way for my users to change their passwords on their own!!! I'm in a fix here now!

I icq'ed the techsupport on this and they offered me this: "you have to change your users' passwords for them". This is clearly not an option.

Anyone out there know how CPanel 3.6 or have unix scripts that can get me out of this one ??? I'd really appreciate it if you can help !!!

thanks again in advance!!!

Hi,

I don't know much about cpanel and if it will work with eudora's change password option, try eudora , it let's you change passwords from the eudora email program.

cheers,

whoops!

just tried Eudora Mail Client.

conclusion - Does not allow you to change password.

Its tries to connect to the mail server and then it spits out an error " could not connect to [mail.domain.com] cause connection timed out (10060) "

checked the help file - " . . . only work if you have the necessary software on your server . . ."

###
the help didn't even provide what kind of software either.

thanks for the suggestion.

Hi,

this is prolly a dumb question but what port does cpanel uses for pop email ?

you can change the port used by eudora for pop and smtp and its directory services.

cheers,

CPanel doesn't affect the port for mail services.

And POP mail runs on port 110.
