What kind of host doesn't have FTP? isn't ftp standard in hosting? Any host who doesn't have ftP should be banned lol:D

Yes, it is possible to do that. I'm sure that host has reasons for disabling FTP, but I sure don't know what they are. :D

Just to mention, this is my first post in here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway... yes, there are other ways to upload then FTP. Take geocities for ex. They use an online uploading system.

Yah, there are ways. I think if i'm not wrong the control panel hostrocket.com uses has the feature to upload right from there.

In MS FrontPage publishes via http (this is the prefered way--it can also publish via FTP if the FrontPage extensions are not installed on the server). If you disabled FTP you'd not have to worry about the problem of users corrupting their FrontPage extensions when they upload files via FTP.

front page? front page is a little too lame for me i always use dreamwaver. just upload my files through ftp in seconds. it's very easy for me. i couldn't live without ftp access. it makes things simple especially for cgi files.

Correction : Geocities does have FTP (and has had FTP for the last 6 years). You just need to know where to connect ;)
