I need some FLASh work done for a personal project. My uncle is having a birthday in just over a month and wants me to develop a "kick-a$$" web site for him to have people RSVP on, make donations to charity, etc.

Now, here's the catch. I need the FLASH for no charge. :o

Now, I am not charging him for his site, but I can't do FLASH myself....

I am building a site so that people can get information on his life, RSVP for his party in mid January, and make donations to the charity of his choice.....which is AIDS.

Unfortunately, my uncle is one of the unfortunate people in the world living with AIDS. :bawling:

I want to create a intro that will morph some of his pictures, going from childhood to adult hood...he is turning 50. It should have some up-beat music and neat effects.

He wants the site to have a navigational area that is interactive...therefore, FLASH.

I can discuss details with someone if they offer to do the work.

There will be a site credit area on the site where both my company and the FLASH designer (or company if you have one) will get a short credit and a link.

If you are interested in supplying me with this work, please let me know as soon as possible. I would like to have the site up and complete (for the most part), by December 13th, 2002.

Maybe you could try downloading Swish?? And figure the flash out yourself? I don't think (not meaning to be rude) that anyone will offer that much time to a non-paying project.

:( I am a programmer/administrator. Any graphical work is done by freelancers that my company uses....

I can try something like that, but I really want to impress my uncle with quality work because of his situation.

If anyone else is interested, please let me know. I will struggle with the SWISH stuff and try and come up with something while I wait for replies...

Your Probably will have to end up doing it yourself or paying somebody. It's just that people don't have free time. Time is money and money is time.............. The only way you'd get some flash is if someone wanted to get a better portfolio and even doing that the flash more then likely wouldn't be very good.

Everyone is right. What you're asking ppl to do for free is too time consuming. I doubt people will take this offer unless they're trying to build up their portfolio.

I know it's time consuming......

I have donated over 250 hours a year to helping develop web sites for good causes such as AIDS, cancer, all-timers (I know that's not spelt right), etc.

I just figured that maybe there was someone out there, that AIDS has also touched their lives, that would be willing to donate some time to help.

Once the site is complete, he expects that many people he knows will be donating to the AIDS fund through the site.......

You know....I really hate how everyone replies to posts telling people they shouldn't ask for what they are asking for....

If you aren't interested in helping, move on.........quit posting to say you aren't interested in helping and you don't think anyone else is......you can't speak for anyone else.......

Free volunteer work is healty for your portfolio when applying for colleges, jobs, etc.

I would love to help, however, I have no skills in Flash whatsoever. :(

I don't know what you are expecting, it would help everyone out if you could find an example on the web of what you want done.

Flash can't morph a photo from image-to-image a la a Michael Jackson video. It can do transistions. but not really a morph.

give an example and then we know how much FREE time we have to give up.
