hi all,

just wanted to thank the community for its shared knowledge and just in time when i needed it. :)

<this is no advertisement>
i found weinbar.com's $49.99 package pretty decent and have read pretty good reviews on this forum.

In my experience over the last coupla years setting up websites for my friends, I've been thru several web hosting providers only to have :

[1] the web hosting provider bought by a bigger company and ended up getting screwed with a more expensive plan (been told to upgrade)

[2] the web hosting provider going out of business and leaving me in a lurch.

[3] the web hosting provider raising prices as they don't need low-end sites like mine; going after "fatter and more profitable accounts".

Anyway - I'm not saying that Weinbar will not but I can at least have some hope <crossing my fingers and toes> that they can keep up the service with the same price for at least the next 3 years (wishful-thinking?).

BTW. Mr Michael Weinstein or ppl from Weinbar.com, if you're reading this please help me setup my account [ID = petertcm] as soon as you're available. Really appreciate it.

cheers

Although I've never personally used them, I've always heard good things and excellent reviews about weinbar and I can't recall anything bad that wasn't resolved. I'm sure that you have nothing to worry about because it looks as though weinbar will be around for years and years to come.

What's their $49.99 package? I don't see it posted on their site.

I see it at the very top of the hosting plan list.

Oh... you mean the one that was right in front of my face? :look: It's the "Internet-page-scanner" factor--I was looking at the monthly prices and missed the yearly one (maybe a little heads-up to WeinBar to make the $49.99/year banner a little more prominent).

On the main page, www.weinbar.com, it is right in the middle "Click here for details on our $49.99/yr (no setup fees) complete hosting plan" Boxed in yellow. Can't miss it!!!

Woah, I completely missed that one!
And when I was actually looking for it, I only found it on the hosting plan page. :D

Actually you *can* miss it because it's "below the fold" on the front page (on an 800x600 screen anyway). When I visited the site I immediately clicked on Hosting link to see the packages you are offering--it didn't occur to me that I'd need to scroll down to the bottom half of your home page to find your featured specials.

Woof... I missed that also. I saw the number but I read it as being $49.99 per month, not per year.

Maybe the PER YEAR part could be emphasized a touch more.

He's right... It comes in less then a 1/4 inch below the fold line on my browser too. Not being critical, just mentioning it :)
