When I try to reach the admin site on my ensim server from work, I get a blank page. I was told that the proxy server on our network at work is probably blocking the port.
I don't think that there is any chance that my workplace will open the port. Is there any other work around? My provider said that a change can be made to my server, but it will break the support contract.
I really need to be able to reach my server from work since I spend 12 hours a day there. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!
David

Bounce the port... If your work proxy allows you to access port 80 (you could also try 53,8080,21,20 and 443) then just redirect the port w/iptables or ipchains (google for it (http://www.google.com/search?q=port+forwarding+linux), I'm too tired).

To avoid compromising your systems at work and getting in to trouble I suggest use a port forwarding proxy.
There's a few interesting leads off here:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=CGI+proxy&btnG=Google+Search
Or use a commerial one. With the demise of SafeWeb and the cost of Anonymizer you could take advantage of the free trials from OrangaTango.com
One I've used for accessing Control Panel and I strongly recommend is J Marshall's CGI Proxy. Using this installer you can be up and running in two minutes
http://www.xav.com/cgi-sys/cgiwrap/xav/install.cgi?p=cgiproxy
I installed it on my own webspace to access my own Control Panel. Until then there was no way I could configure my site bacuse the national firewall was blocking the ports at that time.I
strongly advise that one you've got used to it you move it to a password protected folder in case others find it and start abusing it.
I also suggest you rename it (but you must keep the NPH prefix) in case your IS dept see it in the logs and find it suspicious!
And here's one which I think works

Oh, and to give credit to Mr Marshall - here's his site
