I need to build a video conversion script that will convert video files to MPEG-4/H.264 format. I can find youtube clone scripts that go to FLV, but those wont really work for me.

Does anyone know of any sample scripts that are around for this, and what kind of software I need to be running on the server for this?

The server will be running centos.

Your ffmpeg need to have x264 lib enabled. Then you can encode the vids to h264
