back in the day i jus went host hoping, compared plans and came up with something to be competitive, Dont want to be to cheap or to expensive, but thats me. 100megs to 2-5gigs of bandwidth for about 3-8 bucks a month seems to be the going rate for basic plans

my best policy: guess and check :D

but see what other hosts are offering, if you can beat it, great, if you can't, there are tons of ways to still get customers!

good luck! :)

What we would advice our clients [reseller] will be analysing their own strength and create their own niche market.

Make sure you look at both long term and short term. Having lower prices should get you customers faster, but at a lower income. Having a low income with more customers requires you to have less money per client available for support later on, as well as a higher percentage of merchant/billing costs involved.

Having prices too high will keep you with very few clients.

This whole process has to marry up with your marketing plan and your target market.

Or you could just take a swag at it and pull up 20 hosts that you think are similar to your business model and just average their plans together, hoping that they didn't just do the same thing (the quick way out).
