My question is in regard to features such as those detailed in the Feature Manager e.g. phpMyadmin, Web Mail, SSL, web disk etc.

Say I have two hosting accounts, both on the same package with the same features set, but on one of them, I want to add the ability to have the Webdisk, but not the other. Would I have to create a new package to accomodate this, or can I in some way, just activate Webdisk on one of the hosting accounts?

No, you would have to have this on two separate packages. This can be done easily in whm though. Might I ask why you would want to do have no disk space on one account?

Edit: Sorry, I didn't understand the question. You could in fact do this, and manually go into whm and put 0 disk space in, but then you would not be able to place webmail accounts or databases in that account, as there would be an insufficient amount of space to put it in.

Thanks for the reply.

Let me reword:

Say I have two hosting accounts. Both have the same "Feature List" allocated to them. The feature list includes things like:

Simple Guestbook
SpamAssassin
SpamAssassin Spam Box
Statistics Program Manager
Subdomain Manager
Subdomain Stats

My question is, can I simply turn one of these features on in one account, but not the other without having to create another feature list and assigning it to the account?

Thank you.

You can edit any accounts settings at any time in WHM
Go to WHM -> Account Functions -> Modify an Account

Yes, but this only allows for the following to be changed -

Max Email Accounts: Max Ftp Accounts:
Max Mailing Lists: Max SubDomains:
Max SQL Databases: Max Parked Domains:
Max Addon Domains: CGI Privilege
Max Mongrel Instances (Ruby on Rails):
Shell Access

It does not allow you to change the individual FEATURES for that account, such as

Simple Guestbook
SpamAssassin
SpamAssassin Spam Box
Statistics Program Manager
Subdomain Manager
Subdomain Stats

for example.

Hello,

Just an quick update on this ongoing issue.

You can do this by go to WHM >>> Packages >>> Feature Manager.
Here you can create your own feature list which can later be assigned to specific packages.
Alternatively, if you want to disable functionality for all users on the server, you can edit the "disabled" feature list.

Note : You cannot apply it directly to a sing Cpanel account. For this you will need to assign package to it.

You can edit or create a new package and for the field labeled Feature list, select the feature list you have created.
You can then assign this package to that particular user's account by going to WHM >>> Account Functions >>>
Upgrade / Downgrade an Account.

For multiple accounts you can perform the same action in the Multi-Account Function section of WHM.

No, it won't be possible. You will have to create another package and assign it to the particular account to which you will be restricting those features.

Hope that clears your doubt.

Yes, thats great thank you.

Its kind of a shame that this is not possible. It would be good to be able to add a feature on a good will basis for a client rather than having to either upgrade them or create a new feature set with this small change.

@harrip01

Your right. It's a shame you can not add or disable features for specific accounts.

You can use the feature manager and create a new list of features for a certain client and assign that feature list to him or anyone you want to assign it too.

Officially speaking, the answer is no - that would require different feature lists.

However, if you are familiar with cPanel userdata files, you could theoretically edit files via SSH to effect this. The reason we do not recommend this is edits to the feature list would automatically override such customizations without warning.
