I've only ever used .co.uk and .com names before so have little experience of other domain name extensions.

I have been asked to produce a website for a local parish council and was wondering what domain would be most suitable.

As they are a council they have asked me to find out if they can get a .gov.uk name.

Does anyone know the restrictions on these, how much they are and how you go about getting one?

The other option would probably be a .org.uk or just .org

Am I correct in presuming these carry no restrictions and are the same prices as .co.uk or .com?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

JC.
