View Full Version : Plesk Panel for Windows Issues

I am using Plesk Panel for windows and there are two things clients keep asking for:

1. How to get the www alias working? If they use the domain "abc.com", by default "www.abc.com" doesn't get resolved. Go figure...

2. How to get parent paths to be universally usable so I don't have to go in and manually add it for every user?

I'm running Windows 2008 Server, and the above are recurring support issues that clients keep running into. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Btw, regarding #1, I know how to configure it after the fact. However, when WHMCS creates the account via API, the "www" subdomain just doesn't get created by default.

It's not specifically a WHMCS issue, but as we get asked this a lot take a look at http://wiki.whmcs.com/Plesk#With_accounts_created_on_my_Plesk_server_from_WHMCS__the_www._subdomain_doesn.27t_work

Looking at the doc, we also encountered the foreign characters problem where when a client's profile contains foreign characters, the API account creation fails.

The funny thing is, creating the account inside Plesk Panel using foreign characters is just fine.

God I hope Cpanel's Enkompass comes out soon. Plesk is so buggy and expensive. Their support sucks pretty bad too. Everything you want, they want you to pay more money it seems. The entire UI is difficult to understand as well, even for seasoned system admins.
