Interestingly, it's very easy for web design and development outfits to get into hosting. All they have to do is get a reseller account and sell all kinds of value added services to their clients. Importantly, they get to "keep" the client to themselves, meaning if the clients want updates/changes/enhancements, they come back to the design studio with more business.
How many HostingServiceProviders currently offer website design and development to their customers? Do you think running a website design and development studio, with other value-added services, along with your hosting business provide substantially more revenue? I guess personnel limitations, unpredictable demand etc, would be the main barriers to entry.
As a potential HostingServiceProvider, would it make sense to try to partner with a web design/dev. studio (or setup your own) to provide design/dev. services and internet programming?
*thread also posted in the reseller forum, I'm moving it here after I saw the HostingServiceProvider market becoming too competitive thread*
