1 vote for CPanel/WHM! It's great for managing accounts and the server (although a little linux knowledge would help). It's a great tool, and it's easy to upgrade software, upgrade the control panel, and install RPMs or Perl modules, without too much knowledge. Knowing the way to do this via command line helps, but it's not 100% necessary to do many things.

What are some of the big diffs that you see coming from ENSIM? I am thinking about the same move...

Thanks

I think CPanel wins over Ensim in many areas. Hands down :)

BTW, WHM has a feature to import accounts from Ensim server. Never try it myself but I think it's a cool and useful feature.

I don't think you can create subdomains easily in Ensim, you need some sort of addon. Overall, WHM is just more powerful than Ensim. CPanel 5.3 is much less buggy than previous versions of CPanel too.

yes. EXACTLY! The road through hell to create the subdomains is not a nice one on ENSIM!

Thanks

Thanks for all replies.
I think (by your replies) the choice is WHM.
But is there any more idea, advises?

Regards to you all.

WHM/Cpanel is Fast as compared to ENSIM.
I guess Ensim takes more resources. But Ensim is 4 Level Control panel.
ServerADMIN
Resellers
Site user
End user

CPanel offers three levels:

Server Admin
Reseller
Site Admin
(subdomains with seperate ftp accounts & passwords available, no seperate control panel though)

You know what i think........... I think that if cpanel would offer one time licenses for like 400-600 they would absolutely take out ensim, plesk, etc.. but the monthly fee's i cant stand personally and 1500 per license is a bit much...

The montly fee is worth it. cPanel offers a great support. They are constantly improving upon the package. The other day I was online yapping on aim. My server signs on and sends me a instant message that it noticed apache went down and it restarted it on it's own. Show me a Ensim box that does that.

CPanel is expensive, but there are 2 really cheap internal licence providers for CPanel - Nocster and DedicatedNOW.

Owe, now the internal license charges are nice, but they are normally offered with servers or connections i wouldnt be interested in..

If cpanel would let there licenses go for one time 400-600 i would say its worth it.. I guess im like the only person the doesnt like cpanel for the price, but there has to be at least on critic:)

Hello
This is weird.
Ijust noticed this thread as I pressed the button to start our last server move from Ensim to Cpanel.

We have Ensim servers at Rackshack for our cheap brand (Myqth.com)
but all the problems we had were due to Ensim:

Bandwidth not updating
Servers loads very high for little real activity.

The main advantage of Cpanel is that it auto updates
I have used the account mover supplied with Cpanel.

This has worked well except:

If the domain of the account has been changed its the old one that gets set up on cpanel.
If the users have sub accounts with FTP access they get lost in the process.

Other than that its been fairly painless.
Server loads are down significantly.
Thenew servers I got at rackshack were better and cheaper than what I had before which helped offset the cpanel costs.
