Sorry if this is the wrong area of the forums, please move if so..

Hi, I need to set up my paypal account ready for the company launch but I do not have a card i can verify it with. I have heard that it is possible to verify paypal with a virtual credit card, if this is true then please can somebody show me which one to get? If it is of any use to know my country, I have a UK paypal account :)

If you need any more information, please ask!

Thanks,

~Dean.

So far I think, they do verify via Bank for UK/USA & Canada. However, I am not sure for United Kingdom =)

Hi Dean

If you are a O2 Mobile Customer in the UK you can get a Free Pre-Paid VISA Card for use on PayPal:

http://money.o2.co.uk/

Also, many providers issue Pre-Paid Cards in the UK that can also be used with PayPal.. Virgin Money pops up in my mind also.

If you do go down this route though, make sure you check if any fees will be applied for each Transaction etc.

Does the O2 thing have to be a contract?

No. Any active pay-as-you-go plan is also acceptable :)

Should be able to get a Free PAYG SIM from the O2 Website also - Only requires a £10 Top-Up to get started and can use the credit as you like then.

But as soon as it becomes unactive do they cut it off? I've been told the verification can be done with virtual credit cards but i'm not sure which?

All you would have to do is Make a Chargable Call or Send a Text Message once every 6 months to keep the SIM Card Active.

Hope that helps! :agree:

We work entirely through PayPal but we still have a (free) banking account attached to make PayPal happy.

Balance on the bank account stays at $5 and there aren't any fees through our bank so it's no big deal.

You may see if you can find something similar where you are (not sure how banking works over there).

A Business Bank Account in the UK would involve a full Credit Check being carried out on the Company and also most charge say after the initial 12/18 Month Free Banking Period and for each Transaction - Unlike Personal Accounts in the UK where Banking is FREE!

Just depends on how the Business is set up for example if you are a LTD Company or a Sole Trader etc. Each Bank would be able to tell you what proofs they would require to see to get a Business Bank account up and running.

Business Link is a great site to check out if you are new to the world of Business in the UK - Lots of Hints & Tips to get you started!

Many people use VCC to verify their paypal account. Even i have used this before and there was no problem but make sure as once paypal knows about it they will block all your money or may fine or or the other thing on you..

Verifying with paypal is something doing against the TOS of paypal...
