Akash 12-04-2002, 11:01 AM do you have FP extensions on your free plan?
Akash 12-04-2002, 11:05 AM also you don't have a coppa policy and not even a privacy policy..not very professional and without the coppa on there you could be found in violation of the law.
Host Ultra 12-04-2002, 11:39 AM No there isnt any FP extensions on the free hosting
Its just the features listed, no extras
I dont live in the US i do not need coppa

No, files can not be larger than 1MB and every file must be linked to a webpage (ie, no download sites)
all this according to their TOS...

What is COPA? But as Host Ultra mentioned he is not from Nevada, USA. Does he violate COPA?
jake712 12-04-2002, 09:29 PM COPPA is the Child Online Privacy Protection Act (or something similar) in the United States that requires every website that takes personal information (registrations) like an address. The website must ask the viewer if they are 13 or older. If they are, they can sign-up. If not, the parents of the registree must snail mail or fax a form in order for the child to sign up.
*cough*
This is all in theory, and is rarely actually utilized on sites, because no one really cares.

True i could care less about the coppa violation...I'd still like to know how he's handling my personal information.
I want an account but I dont want to give you an address email or phone number. Can you give me a free @hostultra email and I can sign up using that?
WII-Aaron 12-04-2002, 09:44 PM There's advertising on the accounts. An exit popup.
Still good for someone running a small personal static page.
yowen 12-06-2002, 03:50 PM Sorry, but I think this is kinda racist, you wont let foreigners sign up coz of the abuse? I have a US pasport but I cant signup... Coz if my IP adress, I think this is IP-address-racism... Well I could always wait till I am in the US, will I still be able to log in from Europe tho?
RajanUrs 12-06-2002, 05:40 PM I think you got a major problem. I am from India and we are a major English speaking country. And especially my city is knows as the silicon valley of India with some of the largest IT companies Infosys, Wipro, Mascot headquartered here. They are the biggest IT outsource for US companies and even Microsoft, Sun, etc are based here. I cant understand why you are not considering India.
If you want to delete my post you are welcome. I wasnt really interested in your free offer. I was just checking out what it was all about.

Sorry, We are not accepting applications from your Country at this time.
This does NOT mean you have done something wrong
at the moment we only want signups from major English speaking countries
Hey everything this guy says is true. But do not order anything from him cause you will have to go through 2CO to get the payments to stop. I signed up for the free deal and never received a spam one but like I said don't order nothing.
yowen 12-07-2002, 12:32 PM I dont want to be hosted there... popups
