I have a customer wishing to purchase a .es domain (his home country) and host on his account with us and forward to another of his .coms. However he has been told by The organization who has the control of the spanish domains (.es) (www.nic.es) that if I have not been registered on his provider's list www.nic.es/prov/foraneos.html that he cannot point his new domain www.domain.es to his .com domain (www.domain.com).
I have servers both with Rackshack and Terabyte Nocs. Do anybody else have any experience or information on .es hosting on Rackshack or Terabyte?
Thanks,
D8Mike

Jeez, that's simply BS. Make sure he sets up the correct nameservers -- and simply point domain.es (and/or www.domain.es) to domain.com.
Simple as that.
P.S. Ask him to provide a (preferrably translated) email from the Spanish NIC where they explicitly state that you cannot assign a CNAME to a .com from an .es.

Well I thought it might be BS as well however after searching some boards Ive noticed there are several with this unanswered question and it seems they do require some strange methods of hosting before the .es domains will resolve to a site.
I really was hopeing with as many hosts on this board surely someone hosts some .es domains and could give me some insite to this.
Thanks again,

You can ask nic.es directly. Here is their contact info in English:
