I have transferred my domain name from a free host to my VPS. I am using my domain provider (123-reg) nameservers, with A records to my VPS IP. This is working perfectly.

My problem is now if someone accesses my site without prefix of 'www' or something else, DNS fails.

I currently have A records for '*' and 'www'

I think I might be needing a CNAME to redir mydomain.com. to www.mydomain.com.
but I'm probably wrong!

Looking for someone knowledgable in DNS to point me in the right direction :)

ahh! Just read a single '@' symbol might be what i'm after.

I saw it before and instantly dismissed it as email related - doh!
