Anybody know where I can find free demos (where credit card info is not required) to test the file managers on H S P Complete and Webmin?

had the same problem with the credit card and the folks at S W soft gave me a password to get around it (it was a one-time only #, or I'd post it). email was nealt@*******.com

By that I take it you mean the backend? Well you can setup an appointment with them for a ~45 minute demo where a tech from the company will walk through the control panels and explain to you more about them. After that, you can sign a NDA and they'll let you play around even more with the backend.

Thanks. I'm testing out a VPS there now. I haven't got cgi files to work on my VPS yet, and don't know why I can't change permissions on some directories, such as webmin; they must be blocked. I can log into usermin; but not webmin.

There is so much to figure out; but I'm enjoying learning. A dedicated server can't be much more difficult than setting up this VPS.

I wonder if I can delete Miva folder, since I don't plan to use it.

You have full control over VPS do anything you want to.
You don't have to pay for support charges there.... its demo :D:D:D:D

Well, I got cgi working. I just did it with an htacccess file, instead of changing the config file. Little bit afraid to change config unless I just have to, and until I know more of what I'm doing.

My next step is to get suEXEC working.

I love the Shell Command in Usermin. It doesn't even require a telnet connection or Java.
