I'm starting my biz & I was wondering how many customer support people should I start out with? Should I start out w/ just e-mail support?

Looking for some quality feedback.

to start just one employee, YOU! then get some custos and make some green, after you are profitable then you can spend money!

When you're starting out you'll barely have enough money to pay for your server/internet connections - Get a customer base, and when you can't keep up with support, then you hire someone..

And start out with all support... get a support ticket program and integrate it with your site - you look more professional that way

you should be fine handling support by yourself, but there is a big 'but' - your servers have to be rock solid. your clients wont mind waiting a couple hours (while you get some well-deserved and unfortunately unavoidable sleep) to receive an explanation of how to do this and that using your control panel of choice, but they will witch if they cant contact you when the server/services are down.

As everyone else says, yourself. It will be unlikly your be making 10's of thousands a month to afford "proper" wages.

If your small your support requests will be minimal. Thats if your service is setup to work ;)
