Hi all

what is difference between free lance web development and ordinary web development.

I found free lancer which is in business for 11 years and has developed bunch of high quality websites for the companies from all over the world. They seem to be high professional and unique web developers. they quote 10 times less than average Uk or US IT firms.

I am still suspicious. So any recommendation would help

That's what I was talking about in your previous post ... There are freelancers that are good enough to work alone and give you much better price for something that essentially has been done many times before ... No need to reinvent the wheel. Though, those guys don't have QA teams for sure , so you need to test everything yourself.

What is QA teams?

They test the products and report bugs. QA means : Quality Assuarance. Most software companies have such teams. The product is released only with the QA's approval. But don't mind that, it's just a web site you need, not an engine :)

Simple way to look at it is.. Design Firms and Development companies are established and offer a insurance and security factor, your pretty much going to be guaranteed a certain level of dependability and quality. Cons are you will be paying for that security.

Individuals freelancing on the other hand certainly can be just as talented as anyone working at a firm. As well as be just as dependable, unfortunately you are ultimately dealing with just one person and are relying solely on them to meet your needs. A bit more of a gamble sometimes you win and get a great deal sometimes you don't.

Yup, but there are whole freelance teams most of the time, so it's not true to say that freelancer means that you deal strictly with one developer

Freelancers can be just as good (or better) than larger corporate outfits.
Their prices can be 10x cheaper because they don't have all the overhead. Just ensure you see their portfolio, and maybe get some references from happy customers (and view their sites).

I always thought it was free work. But it just means that its cheaper.

According to the dictionary, freelancer is
1. A person who sells services to employers without a long-term commitment to any of them.
2. An uncommitted independent, as in politics or social life.

Its the same reference as we do for a freelance journalist. A freelancer would be self employed and will be in search for his own work always and he gets the payment for the job done.

Freelancer is not someone who does the job for free :cool:

the clients list is quite long and as they claim they do not work on project like free lancers, you can contact them to repair scripts or prevent bugs in future.

Looks like a proper company, but not an LLC or Pvt Ltd

How come they have a great portfolio, they have time to fix bugs for little money, but they don't have time to make their own site's design ?

Gratis Soft : I beleive its for the SEO purpose , to include the keyword.

fxtrader777 : There are plenty of companies which deliver competitive designs. You should probably do your search better to find more companies and shortlist them. I suggest going with a company rather than freelancers for the fact of reliability with an organized company.

I agree it has SEO purpose, too. And it seems we can't help him much to find the right company. So we can offer our own services :P
