As the title says I am bored, well not really but I have finished all my current PHP projects.

Looking for any interesting ideas you people might have, don't say a VPS control panel or cPanel replacement that's cheaper, there is enough of them already :P

How about a social networking site for musicians and entrepreneurs which attempts to book bands with clubs based on availability, musical style, previous history (if any) between establishment and band, geographical proximity, etc., etc. It should of course include pages for both the clubs to advertise and maintain mailing lists and likewise for the bands.

It's been a pipe dream of mine for several years, but there's no end in sight to my PHP projects :) I think of it as a dating site for musicians and club owners...

Sometimes I find web sites that are so old and not working. They are useful and annoying at the same time. Why don't you find some such sites and offer to "revamp" them. Maybe their owners are just waiting for you ...

A social networking site exclusively for unicyclists. Or some random niche that wouldn't have than a couple dozen members :D

Another one is how about a text RPG game these are fun and don't take too advanced programming to start it.

How about a Web Mail script that allows clients to sign up on your site for free? A Yahoo or Google Clone. IMO that kind of script is hard to find. ;)

You could make a nice component or module for WHMCS to integrate with Joomla

Write some new plugins for WordPress, vBulletin or Magento.

Was considering making a XenSource control panel.
There isn't actually any web based ones that I can find.

How about a Whois client that provides all the functionality of the nicer cli clients. Ability to determine which whois server to query, and maybe let the user override that as needed.

RIPE-NCC has a nice web-based whois client, and makes the source available, but afaik theirs is tailored specifically to IP and routing info, and not very useful for domains.

I'm bored too, and would do it myself, except my mild boredom is accompanied by not-so-mild laziness tonight. :P
