I'm looking around and wondered if you guys have come accross anything such as this? I'm not asking for offers so I'm posting this here. What are some good prices you have seen while shopping around yourselves? I don't want to spend more then about 10-15$ a month. It will be a very small website, no bigger then 20-30mb, but should generate alot of traffic since it will be a business and possibly/most likely marketed on tv within a year of setup. Do some companies offer price breaks if the hoster is given a plug on the website?

If you link back to the host or can help them to generate business then yes, sometimes you can catch a price break on bandwidth. Keep in mind though, if you're site is going to be that popular, you'll need to rely on it, too. Don't skimp too much and go for the cheapie just to save a few bucks.

Well its not so much as popular as people visiting it. Its going to be for a home woodturning business and I'm going to be marketing it alot of places. So naturally many people will visit it to see what it has to offer and what its about but not really actually order anything, I'm expecting in the first year about 1-5 orders a month over the net. Possibly 1-5 over the phone a month or through email after viewing the website and 10-20 a month possibly after viewing the website and talking to us directly because the people will be in our area. I'm expecting about 50 hits a day and increasing possibly after that every month by 50-100.

You wouldn't pay more then $5 for 40-60gb of transit? That must speak wonders about the quality of service you offer if you're buying it at $0.13 - $0.09 *OR LESS* per gb of data transfer .

Ah yes, I thought someone would take it that way. I am sorry if I was breaking the rules but what I meant by posting that was that our rates were competetive and it is pretty much what someone would expect to pay for the level of service.

really? I thought you'd take the size of you site and times it by the projected hits. then times that by 30 for a projected monthly transfer.

Our site is 900kb total(without content), 900x50 hits a day= 45mb approx then 45x30=1.35gb and thats just for the first month for only 50 hits a day, if we get 100 hits a day or 200 you can do the math. Also about 8/10ths of the content isn't there yet cause i gotta get pictures of our products so our total site size will be about 5-10 megs when completed. So you can imagine the transfer there even though people are just looking and not buying.
