hey guys,

I'm looking for an open source for my video streaming website. I found couple of them (but i did check most of them reviews). Most of them didn't get a good review. So any advice (or which open source is good for video streaming website)?... Flash and Silverlight are kinda too expensive.

Thanks,
dogz

Hi,

Your question is not clear, what do you need are you looking for a video player with the ability to buffer while playing the video or are you looking for a server that has the ability to run stremming videos?

Question is not clear indeed, but, I try to guess - you need to stream videos like Youtube? You could try ffmpeg video manipulation package (to create Flash videos) together with Nginx webserver and its FLV streaming module.

And, of course, create or buy nice Flash video player.

As others say, question is not clear. I am going to assume you need an open-source script for a streaming website? Try Clip-Bucket (http://clip-bucket.com/) and VidiScript (http://www.vidiscript.com/).

Your welcome :) I knew clip-bucket for a long time, and a google search brought me to vidi :)

thank you very much Campolar.

But which one you think it's easier (or more user friendly)
Clip-Bucket or VidiScript?

Thanks so much

That comes down to what you're using them for, your design and what your users will be doing with the site - try them both, set them up the way you want them and see which one you find easiest to use :P

Microsoft Expressions Encoder, It's not open source, but it doesn't cost much and can convert videos into silverlight players.
