Also may be because that domain has WHOIS privacy, so email may not be reaching you.

Who do you normally get domains through? Can't you go on as the reseller and click on something to send the password to the owner?

2. enter your domain and security code
3. check your email to find the contact details of your domain provider and the CP URL

This won't help as PDR will send contact details to:
Registrant Email Address: contact@privacyprotect.org
Administrative Contact Email Address: contact@privacyprotect.org

And OP's domain has WHOIS privacy enabled, this is one more reason, why people should use WHOIS privacy carefully.

And always keep welcome/notification emails in a safe place.

Its seems strange that you forgot with whom you registered the domain.

Anyway, can you ask your friend whether he remembers it or not.

OR,

Ask your friend or whoever is the Registrant of the domain to create a support request at support.resellerclub.com and the support team would inform him about your parent reseller and your friend can then contact them.

Just remember to use the email which you had used to register the domain.
