Hello all.

Out of curiosity what is the general consensus in how bandwidth is usually calculated in shared hosting environments?

For example, do providers usually measure just traffic generated by apache? Is only outgoing data measured as 'traffic'?

Incoming and outgoing is all calculated in the bandwidth.

alot of companies ( that can afford it ) has some sort of bandwidth calculating hardware from cisco or what not. alot of routers can run snmp reports to give daily usage, etc..
