I was considering WHB but a few things I read here on WHT scared me a bit... anyone has been using them and can say something about them?

Well, reviews are very important. If you feel scared then you might take a closer look. Now it really depends what you want and what you expect from the hosting provider. If there are reviews about bad or late support but you won't need it too often, then is okey ( just an example ).

How many accounts do you have (or are you new)? What are you specifically considering about them? There are several options to choose from and if as you've probably seen from the reviews of WHB, hosting companies go up and down in terms of performance and time.

It would be great if you have some alternative host providers to compare before you sign up.
Reviews can be vary (positive and/or negative) from each user who experiences it from time to time, well if you don't feel confident to sign up with WHB, then you can just choose others.

You need to compare with the total number of customers they have, assuming others who dont post bad review are happy with the service.

I certainly wouldn't agree with "hosting companies go up and down in terms of performance and time".

I'd agree more along the lines of "With any service industry, true customer orientated operations will do their best to satisfy all of their customer needs. If they succeed in satisfying 99%, they are doing a pretty good job.

I'd agree with you Matt except that web hosting is not consistent and the impacts of one bad account on a server impact the quality of service on the others (these are not VPSes) and is the reason we see a revolving door in terms of the hosting providers that serve the industry.

My statement essentially means that those who have bad track records improve over time and those that have glowing reviews start fairing poorly as they experience the growing pains that come with their success.

Great prices and great customer support. But, all those scary things are probably accurate. I started using WHB back in October and it hasn't been down since about a month and a half ago for the first time. Lightning struck the east coast data center and blew up some breakers and caused some downtime. Order was restored rather quick knowing the circumstances of the situation. Since the lightning strike about a month ago, it's been down 4-5 different times since then. Usually takes them 30 minutes to get everything back up but an hour/hour and a half for all services to be rebooted.

I was talking to Matt and he explained something about getting new hardware for the servers in which were harmed and I guess they were just working out the kinks for it which has caused some downtime.

I've had 4 great months with them until Mother Nature attacked. But they have been working there butts off for us. Hopefully everything is stable with the new hardware.

The support is great for the cost and so is the service. 4-5 months of happiness compared to a month or so. When if/you sign up, request to be hosted on a Texas server.

WebHostignBuzz is a relatively OK reseller plus they are cheap. I've seen both positive and negative reviews about them.
