My dedicated hosting provider has installed a second disk for me, but the ~nearly~ identical drive has very different logical gemetry == 250 heads instead of 16. Both are WDC drives with the same model #, but are from different sources, with different firmware.
Is there a way to compensate for these differences when trying to clone a bootable image copy of the promary disk? I am trying to use dd, which gets derailed by the logical geometry differences, and produces an unusable mess rather than what I need.
