View Full Version : WHMCS or Clientexec
TKNASS 03-23-2010, 02:07 PM Hi Everyone
Yet again I'm hit another stumbling block... Easy question, I have choice to use two billing systems as a reseller host at innohosting, so which is better WHMCS or Clientexec?
P.S. I'm a virgin Hosting provider if that helps with your advice, but a fast learner!
Many thanks
TK
jordanriane 03-23-2010, 02:55 PM I would suggest WHMCS as back when I started using ClientExec and WHMCS... WHMCS was more user-friendly. Clientexec was far too cluttered and not as user-friendly.
Been using WHMCS for over four years and would never use anything else to manage my clients/billing/support. :)
However, you could always run the trial licenses on your account to test each of them out yourself to find out what will best work for you.
linux-tech 03-23-2010, 03:18 PM I took a couple quick looks @ CE a while back and just ran away as far as I could. WHMCS is the best of the best as far a I'm concerned.
Dan_EZPZ 03-23-2010, 03:35 PM WHMCS by far. CE doesn't come close.
Mike12King 03-23-2010, 03:49 PM I've never used CE as an admin but I have used it as a customer. The customer interface isn't that great.
WHMCS is very content rich and very well supported but I don't like the admin interface (and the customer interface is difficult to navigate IMO).
If I had to choose between either, I'd choose WHMCS.
jordanriane 03-23-2010, 03:50 PM Check out Blesta or iHostDev
If you read the OP's thread, s/he is going with Innohosting which offers either a free WHMCS or ClientExec license.
Not for other recommendations but solely which of the aforementioned two. :agree:
Hosting50 03-23-2010, 03:51 PM Go to WHMCS. If you really prefer ClientExec you should wait until the new version is available.

Yea, sorry. I read that later and edited my message.
iHubNet-Matt 03-23-2010, 04:02 PM We've been using WHMCS for billing and it's been great so far. I haven't used Clientexec, so won't really comment about that.
TBradley 03-23-2010, 04:12 PM I personally like WHMCS better!
CI-Theo 03-23-2010, 04:35 PM I'm a big WHMCS fan - don't get me wrong, ClientExec is nice, but I found its backend to be far more clumsy and hard to navigate when compared to WHMCS. Sure, both take a fair bit of getting used to, but all in all my vote has to go to WHMCS.
its easier in client exec to send / not send invoices and control the automation part - whmcs doesnt give you the chance to preview what you are about to send, offline clients (cheque / bank transfer etc) get annoyed with whmcs. The CE support module is better with more fine grained controls and much more enterprise orientated.
The new v4 gives credit / debit, multi currency, chat module and much more. However as one of the posters said, this is not out yet (although soon).
We personally run both whmcs and CE - our preference is to CE.
JohnJ 03-23-2010, 05:24 PM I'd definitely go with WHMCS. Clientexec is pretty good, but WHMCS pretty much has the market. :)
energizedit 03-23-2010, 05:25 PM I use CE but if I had the option I would go with WHMCS. It just looks like an overall better product and gets lots of great reviews around here and other places.
I wish people would give specifics instead of "I prefer"! Why do you prefer, what makes it better for you etc etc??
railto 03-23-2010, 05:42 PM having worked with both systems i would say that WHMCS is more user friendly and also more admin friendly, although most people in hosting use WHMCS these days, same as back in the day when modernbill was the big name to have

Good Point :) We use WHMCS for its user friendliness...
MichaelOwen 03-23-2010, 05:49 PM WHMCS definatly nothing more easy than WHMCS not only for the administrators but also for the existing clients ..
and new clients ..

keserhosting 03-24-2010, 07:15 AM I would suggest WHMCS as it comes with the great features.

You are welcome, hope this thread helps. Yeah, should learn to use it in full potential :)
HostXNow 03-24-2010, 12:16 PM I did try the Clientexec demo but wasn't that impressed so ended up choosing WHMCS.
WHMCS really is the complete client management, billing & support solution.

I found Clientexec to have a complicated administration panel (the way it was laid out). That's one of the main reasons I ever shifted my interested towards WHMCS.

That too. :)
mudassirjaved 03-25-2010, 02:58 AM WHMCS is better and used widely in hosting industry..
