My question is there anything that can be wrong with this offer ? Low price and excellent features as I can see.

Is it really good or is it too good to be true ?

Too good.

What's a cheap price for a domain name? Eight or nine dollars? So you're paying $4/yr. for hosting! And 15 gig bw!!

However, if you feel you can get the domain name transfered and you woouldn't feel too disappointed if the host fails, what's the downside?

Wel .. the whole site is run from a shopping cart .. but I guess that's ok ...
The options are ok except for the Bandwidth ... U$12 p/m for 15Gb / month is a high price ... you should be paying between U$5-U$15 p/m .. but per year .. it's VERY low ...

So you are paying U$1 per month for 15Gb of BW ...

This is a very low price .... the only way he could be doing this if he is SERIOUSLY overselling the bandwith ... at a rough estimate .. by at least 12 times ....

But if since U$12 is not much .. give him a try .. but don't put mission critical stuff there just yet .... and just incase it is a scam .. be carefull with your CC details .. or use a 3rd party processor. This guy is an Indian host, expertise might be cheap but bandwith is NOT ...

plus ... it sounds like the host is testing out his own package via an anonymous buyer ... :D

Sorry I got a little mixed up. The price is 24 US$ for Domain + Hosting. Still a terrific deal.

@ 1 US$ = 50 Indian Rupees (Actually 48 something.....who cares keep the change)

ROFL at the FAQs

You guys are so cheap what's the catch ?
A: There is no catch and no trick ! Actually webhosting, domain name registration, E- commerce are all services that doesn't cost too much. Companies that charge higher rates want to make more profit. That's why they are costly and we are cheap. Sooner or later customers will realize this and join us. We hope to make you a happy customer and stay with us.

well running the numbers real quick

$7 for the domain ( will you or him own the domains is a good question )

then 5 for the rest of the year, most likely overselling the heck out of the b/w.

think of it from a different perspective. he has to fill that box with a ton opf people to have a decent revenue figure from it. so you are going to end up with a box that will be at 90% + cpu usage at all times.

that is not good. slow server ( CPU speed means nothing in general, it only helps out in certain aspects )

I would use a place like that just for parking domains, nothing more

How many domains are you planning to host in server?

Scepticism apart.....its based in a Southern State in India where there are plenty of super rich industrialists. And they have a US office as well. Well my rational is if Bill Gates can donate millions to India for aids prevention why not hosting at low cost by an Indian

Look closer......they are even offering free hosting for non-profit websites. I think its worth a try....

Jolly it's not a matter of domains, it's a matter of how many i/o can the system take before crapping out.

it's rather easy to place 5000 domains to a server, if those domains are only doing 7 plain html page loads per hour ( 35,000 page loads gross per hour ) but again it's just plain html, no 2nd request to the cpu for anything else, you only have the read request for the server to load the page. now if you start adding all the other stuff, database read, and other reads you start taxing the servers resources to a point where in the above situation the server dies.

that's why these web registers have those premade parking pages that are very small. the lighter the page load the more they can park to a cluster.

Rajan

Hang in there. I don't think it will work but who knows.

I've a got $10/yr account with 50M/5gig, few features and absolutely no technical support, but with exceptionally high uptime. So real cheap is possible under some circumstances.

Don't expect good tech support or a fast server with that kind of package. They are probably overselling their bandwidth/server heavily.
