Don't go with an ECS motherboard they're crap... I baught three in a row and all three had issues, and wouldn't work. Maybe it's just my look but there generic so I don't exactly blame the store that they are crap.

* Thermaltake Dragon Orb3 7000rpm Socket A Fan
Orb heatsink/fans are underpowered and weak. For maximum performance, I would recommend purchasing the: ThermalTake AX-7.

For an XP, a top of the range Swifttech cooler. They're noisy as hell, but they do their job very well. Keeps my XP 1800+ at sub 40 degrees Celsius temperatures with ease, even at prolonged high CPU loads the temperature rarely goes over 41.
Also, get a quality motherboard: Abit, Asus, MSI, Soyo, it's all good...
Also, for God's sake, don't buy a Maxtor HDD. IBM and WD are doing very well in hardware tests at the moment, with the WD JB 8mb cache series taking most of the glory.
P.S. Why can't we get that kind of pricing in Europe, I just payed $700 for a Duron 1300 mhz system, and that didn't even have any harddrives included...

Okey I like to contradict two of the opinions here. I have 3 systems on ECS mobos and they have all worked prefectly for a very good price - around $50 each. I also have a Thermaltake Dragon Orb3 7000rpm Socket A Fan which is very powerful and good. It is extremely loud tho and annoys the hell out of me. :stickout:
