I'm on shared hosting.

About two or three weeks ago Webalizer started showing jpg's and gif's in the "Top 30 of 210 Total URLs" section. This doesn't happen in the graph for October and it didn't happen in the beginning of November.

Does anybody know what the problem is?

I have to put it here because this is yet another one that Aletia/Jaguar support have failed to answer.

I only want to see the htm files in this section - they're the ones that I'm interested in.

Webalizer can be configured with:

HideURL *.gif
HideURL *.GIF
HideURL *.jpg
HideURL *.JPG
HideURL *.png
HideURL *.PNG

But some may want to see those. You might want to see if you can find a log file analyzer to run your logs through that will let you do that.

Any idea how I can get to my conf file to perform thses edits?

Sorry but I've no idea where it is. :(

I was referring to the server-wide configuration of Webalyzer. Without knowing the setup there, I'd say you are going to have to get some help from your host mate.

The answer I got from the host was: that they don't edit any.conf files. The information is passed from CPanel via "command line" and is impossible to customize.

This seems unfortunate - you'd at least expect the referrers section to filter out the "home" domain - are people

interested in referrals from themselves?

The way Webalizers is (mis) configured on my host right now 9/10 of the reports are not useful to me.

It would be a lot more useful if the urls part filtered out gifs and the the referrers part filtered out my domain.

I would like to download the logs raw and do it myself but I end up losing the last few days of every month due to the peculiar setup. See

I believe the non-filtering of gifs is a mistake which the host will soon correct but is it common for hosts (or

CPanel) to not filter out the referring domain?
