I was looking at the-pixel.com and thought it was time to design a new webdesign for my own site once again and Wanted to make something even remotely comparable to the pixels designs.

I have my site 100% laid out on photoshop but what do I do now to actually turn it into a design>? I can do the html coding and have dreamweaver but What is the easiest way to take every single tab and header etc convert it into a image and put it together via dreamweaver.

I started converting my photoshop designs and importing them to gimp and then cutting everything from there but the proccess has been VERY slow doing it that way and I am looking at more affective ways of seperating all the images and putting them into a final website.

P.S: Ignore the typos my evil phone is trying to mess me up. Also is the search button working for anyone else? It is only showing me 3 results for all my searches via phone.

Why would you need to bring it into Gimp if it's designed in Photoshop? That has slicing tools...

Not sure what I am doing wrong but slicing with photoshop always grabs my image inccorectly. I tried to slice part of the design and it kept grabbing more then I wanted... Using gimp it worked perfectly fine. It just is very time consuming switching between programs.

That's odd. In newer versions of PS there doesn't seem to be any "snapping" that might explain it grabbing too much, but I've always found when it's being a pain I could enlarge the image for accuracy. A quick roll of the mouse wheel. I just tested one in CS4, and was able to get it to grab anything I wanted, very accurate.

I'm curious, what version of PS is it you're using?

I am running cs3 right now but I will upgrade to cs4 and see what happens.

Upgrading to cs4 has seemed to fix it or grabbing the latest photoshop version available I should say.

Thanks. Kind of odd though as to why that issue happened.

Odd, all right. I never used CS3, skipping over it to get 4. Maybe that's particular to that version?

Glad you got it working though. :agree:

I am interested in upgrading to CS4 from CS2 but I heard its expensive how much does it actually cost to upgrade nowadays? I know CS5 is out or on the near horizon but I was just curious?

The upgrade will vary. When I purchased CS2 Creative Sweep I was still in college and because of that I was able to get a student discount. I know you can receive other discounts, such as government employees.

CS5 will be out very soon. I have yet to work with any Adobe software that was 'buggy'. I would suggest waiting and saving to see what happens with CS5. It will be an extremely large upgrade going from CS2 to CS5 but it will be exciting! If you haven't already done so, I would strongly suggest visiting Adobes website (http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/?sdid=FNHYT&) Best of luck!
