Your site is most definitely slow--that 19k graphic on your home page took about 20 seconds to load on my cable modem connection. :( I first looked at CobaltRacks about six months ago, and they were slow then. They e-mail me and also posted on their site that they were going to upgrade their connectivity in the near future; six months later, I have yet to see any evidence that they have upgraded anything. (I never did get a server from them, due to their slow connectivity and the totally amateurish website they had at the time--in hindsight I made the right call.) aa197 04-19-2001, 08:30 PM Well it looks like i am screwed. Me and my brother own heavystorm.com and bootsector.net, we were just making enough to move from a shared host to a dedicated server. I can't afford to use another company until the 6 months contract is up. I shouldn't have rushed but I had no choice, l Ieft it too late to find somewhere when my old hosting plan finished. As for their support so far, it has been pretty good, but the point is I don't care about support just speed and reliability. Could someone recommend a good cheap company for when the contract finishes, I just hope they improve by then. My old shared hosting company super.nu started off really badly and slowly but over time improved a lot. cbaker17 04-19-2001, 08:37 PM Problem is we dont know where any of the current companys will be in 6 months, 4webspace.com was pretty good, but theyve been suffering with network problems lately... so check back in 6 months :) You should have never signed a 6 month contract, you might try just reniging on it, and cite it as poor service. Im sure they are promissing you things will improve, I can guerentee thats not the case they will never improve. AP 04-20-2001, 01:40 AM Get out of there ASAP. Their connectivity isn't their worst side. Service there is terrible. It might start out good but when the chips are down they will leave you hanging. Try getting a reboot after 8pm or on a weekend. (Won't happen since there isn't anyone there after 8) I'd try to back out of that contract too. It's probably happened so many times to them that they won't care. Look for a good reputable provider. I personally like Dialtone, but there are plenty of others out there that are just as good if not better. Just remember that you get what you pay for. BTW, wasn't super.nu a scam company? If I remember correctly there was a big hullaballu about them last summer. You must be lucky if you didn't get jammed up by them.:) aa197 04-20-2001, 09:01 AM Dunno about super.nu being a scam company, I was actually using one of their resellers earth-host.com, the guys who owns that company doesn't seem to be using super.nu any more, but I was using a computer called xxxxx.super.nu, for just under one year. Regardless, they refunded our money and we moved on to better places like severhost.com and pogolinux Matrix 04-21-2001, 06:08 AM Node9, Let's not start the  pogo linux thing again  node9 04-21-2001, 12:37 PM Matrix, I didnt start anything I know what your goign to say ya ya their tech support sucks blah blah and they havent answerd your emails they didnt handle the situation properly with racklocation and netcolony and they deleted the thread on wht etc, and that one thread i started about the ping times Sure, i may of gotten bad ping times to a pogolinux server, but i have had a pogolinux server for a bout a month straight, and it is rock solid, i just am far frrom it thats all. I get 140ms pings, but when i login, it is very fast. I find absolutely nothing wrong with it at all. So i'm pretty satisfyed, you may not, but this is just me.
