So adding e-commerce to a new site and looking to use x-cart as the shopping cart. Internet merchant account id is covered but looking for the best payment gateway. I'm keen to do is integrate it so that the user does not get transferred of to the payment gateways website. Would prefer them to stay on my browser address throughout and have our logos/layout etc. I was planning to use Sage Pay Direct but this PCI DSS compliance and audit stuff looks a real nightmare so now thinking of using Sage Pay Server as this means sage collect the card details and so don't beleive I need to get independantly audited.
In terms of shopping carts I'm probably looking at x-cart as primary and cubecart as alternative.
Does anyone have any experience and know if these shopping carts work with Sage Pay Server and if this combination will meet my needs of keeping user at my site but allow the credit card details to be collected by sage pay systems rather than my systems.
Thanks guys.

Just one point to add. I think to keep the customer on the same url need to use a iframe. Think this basically loads a sagepay card payment details page inside the shopping cart website. Think that side works ok but does this present any problem or further redirects to the card holders bank for the verified by visa bit?

I know Sagepay, but I should admit I didn't have time to test them so I can not say anything about the service. Why don't you ask your bank what kind of payment processor do they recommend. This would make you to pay less on service fees and to improve the history of your business with the bank. It is easy to integrate a number of merchant accounts with Authorize dot net and Link point once you have the account set up.

This looks a nightmare. Have a bad feeling from everything I have read that x-cart does not automatically link in with sage pay server. Looks like it can be been but may need a custom module written by a developer. Then to cap it all off some people are reporting they have to get quarterly scans to be PCI DSS compliant. I thought reason for going sage pay server route was to avoid hassles of having to go to that level. Seems a matter of opinion though as some QSA seem to think sage pay server does not require scans on my website.
Anyone any experience with this and also anyone got suggestions on using X-cart with Sage Pay Server.
