I get the following error 80% of the time when checking my email.
Background fetch failed with exception: The connection to the server mail.hostsave.com on port 110 timed out.
Hostsave gave some lame excuse about too many emails in my inbox. I cleaned it up a little but I don't see any difference. Does anyone know what this means (besides time to dump hostsave)? Anyone else have the same problem?
Thanks
Prince

I used Hostsave around 2 years ago, in fact they were my first webhost.
they sucked then, so maybe nothing has changed! :D
I just signed up with HostSAve a couple of weeks ago. As soon as I logged on to my FTP site and uploaded my files to test it, I realized it was technically inadequate. I immediately tried to cancel the account before they charged my credit card. They e-mailed a phony excuse that I hadn't included enough information fro cancellation. That was the last time I would hear from them. I kept e-mailing them, trying to cancel, to avoid the hassle of a refund. No reply. Four days later the charge appeared on my credit card. Now, 3 days after that, they closed my site down, with no warning, keeping my files. They've kept my money, in return I have nothing to show for it. This company has a long reputation (I later discovered) of continuing to charge people's credit cards after closing their account.

A good while back I was in a real hurry and came within a couple of clicks of signing up with HostSave. Fortunately I read the reviews and oh was it worth the effort.
One shouldn't slag off companies without first-hand experience but in the case of this company I think you can believe the reviews.
Thanks for posting this because people need reminding about the real bad eggs once in a while.
