BC 04-19-2001, 08:57 PM Ask Alpha (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/member.php?action=getinfo&userid=1256) - he's the one who created the logos for us. As a matter of fact I'd be interested too ;) alpha 04-19-2001, 10:40 PM "WebHosting" is done in a font called Concielian and "Talk" is done in Silkscreen (usually used as small tiny blocky text) with a 30degree skew... JTY 04-19-2001, 10:44 PM It's a cool logo.... nice looking fonts.... alpha 04-19-2001, 11:12 PM thanks, i appreciate your compliment hehe and the toughest part of making a header graphic is what font you're gonna use. i probably have over 500+ fonts installed... and its tough as a diamond to try to find those few that would fit whatever you are trying to make akashik 04-20-2001, 12:17 AM Originally posted by alpha i probably have over 500+ fonts installed... and its tough as a diamond to try to find those few that would fit whatever you are trying to make *lol* tell me about it... I have over 400 printed out and binded so I can just sit back and flick through them for a while I try to think on of that would look good in a header... Even then, I usually end up trying two or three before I'm *kind of* happy :) Greg Moore klisis 04-20-2001, 01:34 AM Where do I obtain(or purchase) fonts? akashik 04-20-2001, 01:52 AM I have a CD with 5000 fonts on it I picked up at a local computer store from their 'bargain bin' :) Font CD's aren't too expensive if you know what you're digging for. Martie found a great site a while ago that might fo the trick for you though: http://www.pcfonts.com/ Enjoy! Greg Moore shrirch 04-20-2001, 02:36 AM Alpha, kudos on an excellent job! By the way, I also like http://www.wantedfonts.com for font downloads. klisis 04-20-2001, 08:23 AM Thanks. I will look for one when I happen to visit my local computer shop. I feel your pain!!! Every single time I try to make a graphic with text in it I select the text in Photoshop, click on the font list menu, select the first font and then I sit there for an hour clicking the down arrow on my keyboard going through each one. The sad part is sometimes I can't find a font that makes me happy, so I've basicly spent hours going through 808 fonts (just checked) for nothing.. I always use Impact or Arial if I don't find anything else, those are my backup fonts :D akashik 04-20-2001, 01:20 PM Originally posted by zolbian I always use Impact or Arial if I don't find anything else, those are my backup fonts :D I'm the same, with the addition of Times New Roman is I need something with a serif. Impact is the classic all-round bold, thick font that doesn't take up too much room. There's a serious lack of good thick 'heading' type fonts. :) Greg Moore Red Circle Web Hosting 04-20-2001, 09:30 PM Got them from.... http://www.1001fonts.com or.... http://www.acidfonts.com :stickout |
