I've noticed a few of my customer's domains have lapsed into extended redemption status. The contacts are getting mail from InTrust Domains stating they are selling the domain.

Anyone know of these guys? Are they a backorder service?

They've contacted me regarding domains that haven't even lapsed yet. I was tempted to contact them regarding one of them, right after I renewed it, just to see what all they would claim to have.

One domain in particular, I was purposefully allowing to drop, they contacted me about, saying they had aquired the domain and would help me get it back. of course, they hadnt. It was actually available for anyone to register. I re-registered it out of spite.

Other than that I have no information on them.

Yeah, I know of them. They look at whois records to see if domains are expiring and then email you if you have other variants of the domain name in hope that you will buy it for an inflated price.

I had an email from them too this week, well 3 actually plus a few other companies that do the same.

What they are doing is seeing if there is any intrest. What they are failing to tell you is that it is anyones game.

I own a .net, .co.uk and was emailed about the .com by Intrust.

However tempting it is, do not click the link in the email as it will confirm that you could be intrested.

Just wait for the domain to drop and register it. That's what I did about a hour ago.

Now I'm the new owner of the .com too!!! Silly buggers. Don't play their game and you have a good chance of aquiring the domain you want.

Hope you are all well. Not been here for ages.
