hello, i have been getting this problem when i got a email from a client wanting a server product saying that he cannont buy one as it wont let him register he says "it goes up with a blank page with the words "an error has accoured" at the the top". so i tried it manually and it still didnt work it just redirect me to the clients view. i looked at the log and it said that it made the client but under the id of 0 (User ID: 0). now i know that cant be right as the next number to be used is 5. can somone help me? i can provide pictures, etc.
these did work before (a week ago) and in that period there was minor adjustments. iv googled this and im really confused!! is it a database problem? it could be anything!!:(

Well, first you need to upgrade your WHMCS to the latest version, which I believe is v4.2.1.

Im speechless, that is exactly what i was going to say!

Yea try that if see if some thing's change...

When you reinstall make a new database too.

Dont forget to go into Utilities>Database Status> The scroll down and download it :-D

What's your site so we can test it ourselves? I've personally never seen the error.

You'd both recommend someone upgrade something that's stopped working properly? Usually fixing the issue then considering upgrading to a new release is more prudent, I'd suggest.

I'd suggest that's the cause, the changes you'd made right before it stopped working. Try changing it back?

True but the upgrade is there, second i can rest assure if he reinstall's with a new database and just takes a back up in whmcs everything would be fine as the update is due and obviously it's nothing wrong with the server if it was working fine before so to spend less time why not? Maybe im just a time saver is all.

We had a problem a couple of days ago where we would see a blank page after replying to a support ticket. We added following line to our configuration.php file as suggested by John:

$display_errors=true;

The above code shows you the exact error of which you can report to WHMCS staff.

This is certainly worth trying, as it should display the exact error when you see the blank page. Don't forget to remove the line once you have finished testing as it will also show errors in the code that don't need to be fixed.

You can try a clean install, but dont drop the current database or the template files. In other words, do it as if you are moving your whmcs setup to a new server, that should reverse anything that was edited badly.

Chances are that the upgrade simply over-wrote the changes you had made that were causing the issue.

Before you make any changes I highly suggest you always take a database and file backup just in case.

Weird, I had the same problem, but I just saw it was that I was creating a "test" account. Then I created other account and it worked. Also I had some errors while submiting bandwith and all stats of every package.

either submit a ticket to whmcs support or reinstall with a working version.

ensure that the php you are using is not 5.3 version

I've had issues creating test accounts that start with the name test (test.com and/or username test)

Now I usually do something like totallyawesome.com when I am testing because that works and test.com/tester.com never does.

cPanel/WHM doesn't allow accounts to be created with the username "test".
